Preliminary slides for JBoss-Rails at RubyCamp

October 18th, 2008

Thanks to the typical demo demons, I’ve been unable to get everything functioning perfect for instantaneous clustering on EC2 by tomorrow.

Oh well.

But here’s the first draft of some slides I’m taking with me to the Raleigh RubyCamp.

It’s a BarCamp style event, so I anticipate the slides probably changing throughout the day. I’ll published updates if needed.

    FYI: You can remove “apparently” from the “GlassFish apparently does it”. GlassFish *can* do JRuby as follows:

    1) WAR deployment on GlassFish v2 and GlassFish v3 Prelude using Warbler (as you mention). Arun Gupta has plenty of documented examples. Arun’s blog: http://weblogs.java.net/blog/arungupta/

    2) A GlassFish v3 Prelude supports “native” JRuby deployment - without a servlet container. A GlassFish v3 Prelude JRuby GEM is available as well. FYI: http://weblogs.java.net/blog/arungupta/archive/2008/08/typo_on_glassfi.html

    Hope this helps.

    @John–

    Yeah, with “apparently”, I was apparently trying to be cheeky. We are competitors, after all, sorta.

    Thanks for the comments, though; keep’em coming.
